Agape Baptist Church is the result of the manifestation of God in the lives of some brothers and sisters in Christ, who, after having had an experience with the power of the Holy Spirit in their lives, were ready to live the gospel of Christ in its fullness, and to seek the kingdom of God.

A church that was born in the heart of God to bless Campinas, São Paulo, Brazil and the world. Believing in God's word, that the gospel is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, the Baptist Church Agape fulfills its mission to preach this gospel that transforms lives through the power of Jesus' blood, shed on the cross of Calvary in all cities where it is established.

For everything there is a season, and a time for very purpose under heaven - Ecclesiastes 3:1

The result of this search for, and dedication to, God was vigor and strength for the local body. This body was convinced that God would use it according to the vision given. It also understood that all that they had begun to experience would have to be reproduced in other cities, so that this same love and power could be spread to many places, in the same intensity and anointing that reigned in Campinas. Thus the expansion of this vision was pursued. New churches in other locations sprang up, and the vision reproduced.

Agape Baptist Church has always had a great desire to serve God with total dedication and fear. This vision has lead the church to be established in a balanced and Biblical life, maintaining its calling and firm objective, which is to reach the stature of the perfect man. Therefore its background exhibits an intense desire to live by the Scriptures, its only foundation for faith and works, and as such, its way of life, rather than emotional circumstances.

We were created in Christ to reach the stature of the fullness of Christ, this is our spiritual calling, backed by the precious promises of God.

Till we all attain unto the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a fullgrown man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ - Ephesians 4:13

The story of this church does not end with what He had done up until now. It will continue until the return of our Lord Jesus Christ. The church will continue conquering territory for our God, and will always be a blessing in God’s hands. And we invite you to be a part of the development and fulfillment of this powerful vision.

A church could not have any objective other than that planned by God for it. In the New Testament we find this objective very clear in the doctrine of the apostles. The Word of God reveals that the success of the Church described in the book of Acts came as a result of the following facts: “And they continued steadfastly in the apostles´doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers. Then fear came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles. Now all who believed were together, and had all things in common, and sold their possessions and goods, and divided them among all, as anyone had need. So continuing daily in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart.” And the text says that they were “praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.” (Acts 2:42-47.) This is the quality of life that is God´s objective for the Church. God desires a people who persevere in the Word, who love the brethren, and live in the unity of the Spirit, a people entirely given to prayer, who fear the Lord, who manifest the signs of Christ, who are committed to the worship services in the temple, who know how to share bread from house to house, and who relate to one another with singleness of heart. All of this will only be fully possible when we reach full maturity – that is, the stature of the perfect man.

If the objective embraces the divine vision for the Church, then the goals are the steps to be taken in order to reach the objective. We would say that the goals are the manifestations of the Holy Spirit, leading the believers towards daily growth in the Holy Scriptures. The goals established for this church are:

- To have a ministry that is full of the Holy Spirit and rich in discernment through the Word, of that which is right or wrong, according to Scripture; A ministry full of love and responsibility in shepherding God’s flock. As the apostle Paul teaches us, in his letter: “The elders who are among you I exhort, I who am a fellow elder and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that will be revealed: Shepherd the flock of God which is among you, serving as overseers, not by compulsion but willingly, not for dishonest gain, but eagerly; nor as being lords over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock; and when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that does not fade away.” (I Peter 5:1-4).
